Sidney Raider Cross Country Lettering Requirements

(for all high school athletes) 

 

1.  Letters will be awarded based off points earned during the season.

2.  You will need to have 8 points in order to letter.

3.  Points will be awarded based off the following criteria:
 

• Perfect attendance = 1 point

• Medals earned during the season:

  • JV Medals - 1 point each

  • Varsity Medals - 2 points each

• Placing 1st or 2nd as a Varsity team = 1 point

• Running in 50% of the Varsity meets = 1 point

• Season PR = ½ point each time you improve in a meet

• Community Service Participation = ½ point each (max 2 points)

 

4.  District runners and State Qualifiers will automatically be awarded a letter.

5.  Athletes injured during the season will be awarded a letter at the discretion of the coaching staff.

6.  Seniors who have run all 4 years and are in good standing will earn a letter.
