RUNNING IN THE RAIN ...

One of my favorite motivational running videos.  Don't wait for the perfect conditions, make your conditions perfect!  Be willing to work hard and go after your dreams.  ANYTHING is possible if you believe!  Set goals and when you reach those goals ... SET NEW ONES!

~ Coach Wiedeburg

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CHALLENGE

My favorite season memory was at state. First, it was freezing cold so everyone was bundled up and that made the memory better. When we all got on the start line, everyone was nervous and I could feel the excitement coming from everyone. I wasn’t feeling the best when we got to the start line, so I was kind of spacing off. When we were getting ready to start, I knew I had to get my head to stop thinking about how I felt and start thinking about the race. The gun went off and everyone started. The first thing I noticed was one girl had sprinted out to the front. About 3 seconds into the race, I looked down because I didn’t want to trip and then suddenly there was two people in front of me on the ground. It surprised me because I had about a second to react and I almost fell, but I stayed up. The gun was shot at that point and we all headed back to the start. The reason this was my favorite memory was because of the walk back. All of our xc team walked back together and made sure everyone was ok. Although there were some people hurt, it felt like everyone’s spirits were lifted a little and I also felt better so it was a win win. When we started again, it was better and I think everyone’s nerves were gone, it was just way better than before.

Check out this story written about a speech given by Coach John Scolinos.  It is a short read but the concept will stay with you for a long time.
